Lakeside is one of a few, and certainly the only one in the Mount Washington Valley, physical therapy clinics that truly integrates physical therapy and fitness center operations. Many clinics advertise sport therapy or even have the word sport in their name but are far from it. Here at Lakeside sport, athletics and fitness are at out core . Our staff skis, plays hockey and lifts weights regularly. Both of our facilities are true fitness centers, and in both of our clinics patients and athletes work hand in hand. The transition from patient to fitness center member is smooth and natural.
Many of our patients continue with exercise routines and healthy life style for long time after they are discharged from a formal physical therapy program. That prospect of continuing exercise under close supervision of physical therapy personnel allows our patients to receive higher quality treatment which in many cases would otherwise exceed insurance limits. In addition, you will not find very many fitness centers where athletes can count on instant, professional advice and routine modification when suffering minor or serious sport injuries. We work close with doctors from Orthopedics at Memorial Hospital as well as the Alpine Clinic and if necessary we help our athletes set up convenient appointments with our orthopedic specialists.
